Reasonable Doubt

So let's say someone stops by your house with some of their friends (we'll call them 3rd party and 4th party), but you're not home at the time. And let's say that, when you get home later that evening, you notice that something, cash perhaps, is missing. Most of it anyway. The envelope that held it is gone, but a few bills are found dropped on the floor. You know your friend was looking for something in your house, so you call them to see if they saw the envelope with the cash. When 3rd party hears what's being talked about, this 3rd party suddenly interjects with "They better not be blaming me!"

No one had been blamed or even suspected. It was assumed the envelope had been inadvertently pushed aside during a search for something else.

The next day, the same 3rd party suddenly begins sending threatening text messages, suggesting how ridiculous it is to even think they would be capable of theft, and on and on for most of the afternoon.

No one had really suspected the 3rd party. Until all that went down. Now, well... the 3rd party doth protest too much, methinks.

Agree or disagree?
